Date of origins of Caspian Sea Dredging Company goes back to 1928.
Growing freight turnover on the Caspian Sea brought necessity to build new and reconstruct existing ports to receive and tranship heavy lift ships. This gave birth to the idea of creation of the Caspian technical fleet.
The managerial and operating staff at Caspian Sea Dredging Company, with their remarkably high level of professional skills, have dredging and service fleets constructed on yards of Holland, Germany, Romania, Soviet Union and other countries, which are able to maintain required depths on fairways, scoops and berths of Caspian and other ports, to perform dredging work on open roads, to carry off excavated mud to underwater dumps, to reclaim shore land by washing, to carry super precision works to build foundations areas of complicated configuration for floating shipyards.
In addition, the department renders services to floating and coastal navigation marks in Baku and Absheron ports. Before appearance of new sovereign Caspian littoral states Caspian Sea Dredging Company was able to simultaneously serve 133 coastal and floating marks of CNP and channels lengthened at 62 running kilometers total.
Marine fleet of the company includes 2 hopper suction dredges - "Narva" and "Engineer Kh. Muradov"; 1 bucket dredge "Engineer B. Mamedov"; 1 clamshell self-propelled hopper dredge; 3 self-propelled hopper barges like "Bakinskaya"; wet towboat "Smeliy" and number of auxiliary vessels to serve the technical fleet.
In his history going 70 years back Caspian Sea Dredging Company carried dredging works in about all ports of the Caspian Sea beginning from the outlet of Volga river in the north to Iranian ports in South, from Eastern coast of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to Western coast - Russia and Azerbaijan.
In the last half of the century the dredging fleet of Caspian Sea Dredging Company took part in construction of about all ports and some berths built in the Caspian and other regions, take for example Novotallinsk port. All Caspian ferry lines in Baku, Krasnovodsk, Bekdash and Aktau were built with participation of our company. Most difficult works were done in Aktau port under complicated geology circumstances -there were hard rocks (marls).
The company's fleet carried operations on the Black Sea too - over 3 million cu m of spoil have been removed during dredging works on Danube river in Ust-Danube.
The unique the company did to build a navigable fairway via the Krasnovodsk spit - economically important for the Caspian navigation. The company brought to life a project on construction of a pumping station in the lagoon on the Eastern coast of Turkmenistan.
In the time frame from 1961 to present the fleet of Caspian Sea Dredging Company removed 156 million cu m of soil to an underwater dump.
In 1998 under a contract signed with BP the company carried dredging works to deepen the basin of the Southern scoop.
These works are necessary to pull the floating drilling rig "Istiglal" out from the scoop. After modernization the floor of this rig became deeper. All operations were successfully completed ahead of the schedule, stipulates the recommendation letter issued by a world known company.
