RAO “Rosneftegazstroy” oil-and-gas construction company - is a leading Russian oil-and-gas related company dealing in industrial and civil construction.
History of the company dates 50 years back . Established in 1972 as independent structure - the Ministry of construction of oil-and-gas industry entities of the USSR- in 1991 following reforms in economy of the former USSR by the decree of the president of Russia the Ministry was transformed to “Neftegazstroy” construction concern, in 1992 - “Rosneftegazstroy” Joint Stock Company.
During this time RAO “Rosneftegazstroy” constructed over 200 000 km of trunk pipelines and over 500 000 of field pipelines and service nets (in 80s RNGS built 22 000-25 000 km of pipelines a year), over 1500 compressor and pumping stations. RNGS took part in construction of gas refinery plants of 45 billion cu m total capacity and oil refineries, built reservoir parks of over 16 million cu m, oil treatment units of 250 million tones capacity and complex gas treatment units of 500 billion cu m capacity, commissioned 13 million m2 of housing-commercial entities with complex of engineer communications, built over 150 thousand km of roads of different purposes.
In past 15 years company’s subsidiaries constructed over 12 000 km of pipeline and surface facilities in foreign companies - in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Finland, Yemen, Angola, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Algeria and Libya.
RNGS is a full member of the International association of pipeline-constructors IPLOCA, International gas union, Russian union of industrialists and entrepreneurs, engineers, experts, experienced workers in oil-and-gas sector.
Largest industrial companies of RNGS have got advanced foreign and local technologies and capacities to produce special materials, elements and details for construction of oil-and-gas producing, transporting and refining units, to annually manufacture 39 000 tones of connections, 60 000 tones of polyethylene materials, over 7 500 km of polyethylene and steel pipes, over 1000 km of pipes with silicate-enamel coating, reinforced-concrete manufactures, steel constructions and carving woods.
Caspian-Black Sea projects
At the end-May of the current year RAO “Rosneftegazstroy” signed the agreement on cooperation with AO “Georgian International Oil Corporation” to establish joint company and take part in construction projects.
Within the scope of the agreement the parties established Georgian-Russian construction company “Gruzrosneftegazstroy” aimed at participation in Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines, and in other oil-and-gas related and civil-engineering projects.
The agreement envisages:
- establishment of Russian-Georgian pipeline consortium Novorossiysk-Supsa (RGTC);
- joint development and exploitation of oil-and-gas fields on the territory of Russia, Georgia and other states;
- establishment of joint information-analytical center based on advanced information-intellectual technologies.
In addition to this RNGS constructs and modernizes the pipeline connecting Tengiz field in Kazakhstan and Novorossiysk oil terminal on the Black Sea, renovates existing pipelines, constructs mooring terminals, reservoir-park for 1 million cu m and builds and reconstructs 18 pumping stations.

Fulfilling main branch and corporate functions as coordinator and general subcontractor during realization of large investment-construction projects and programs in oil-and-gas and industrial-civil sectors, RAO “Rosneftegazstroy” guarantees construction, revamp and reconstruction of 15.000 km of pipelines of different purpose a year with all entities of infrastructure.
In order to further integrate to world economic system, RAO “Rosneftegazstroy” realizes program on transformation to international production-investment corporation with advanced foreign and local industrial and market infrastructure that provides efficient reproduction of finance and intellectual potential in oil-and-gas sector; efficient management of total industrial, finance, material and intellectual resources of shareholders, joint and subsidiary structures; securing of technological and administrative integrity of the corporation.
In August 2002 RNGS-Az-Ltd on behalf of Rosneftegazstroy made appearance on the Azerbaijani market, the company won number of tenders and operates within the scope of TACIS (Azerigaz) and Phase-1 (McDermott) programs.
