It serves the needs of municipal, industrial, agricultural and energy markets supporting the infrastructure development globally. Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. has built up a reputation of "The" pipe producer in the Middle East and has an extensive reference list of successfully completed projects. The company is a major producer of several different pipe materials and does have other joint ventures outside Saudi Arabia. We have 124 afiliates all over the world and more than 80 of them are production facilities.

Which activities are you concentrating on in the Caspian Region?

We are mainly concentrating on sale of piping products, engineering of water and sewage pipe systems and water management. We are offering high quality glass fiber pipe products produced with the latest technology and possesing a number of advantages over traditional steel pipes. Our current sale in the region reaches absolute USD 20 million per year and tends to increase. And what are the main advantages of glass fiber pipes over other types of pipes?

Advantages include but are not limited to corrosion and erosion resistance, long life, low weight and easy installation. All these advantages significantly reduce istallation and maintenance costs.

What are the main factors of your activities and marker espectations in the Caspian Region?

The current situation seems to be very prospective as there is a great demand for infrastructure rehabilitation, especially in water and sewage networks. Governments and international financial institution pay great attention to infrastructure development in the region and it will foster the market development in the nearest future. Due to their corrosion resistance features our products can also be applied in such aggressive invironments as oil & gas production infrastructure. This also presents very good market opportunities for us. E.g., we have already had significat projects in oil facilities of the region.

What are your plans for the nearest future?

We are planning to establish pipe production facilities in Azerbaijan in the nearest future. The plant will cover not only local market, but the whole Caspian Region and Central Asia. Negotiations with a potential partner are currently under way.
