"Garadagh" Sement JSC
"Garadagh" Sement JSC, situated near to Baku, in Sahil settlement, is the only cement producing company in Azerbaijan. The Company provides the majority of domestic demand with its high-quality products, which meet both domestic and international standards.
"Garadagh" Sement JSC is a member of "Holcim" Group of Switzerland, which is one of the leading concrete and cement producers of the world. 86% of the Company shares belong to "Holcim" Group, which possesses 126 cement plants, 256 stone quarries and more than 600 concrete product plants in 70 countries.
Annual production capacity of "Garadagh" Sement JSC is estimated over 900 000 tons of cement. The produced cement products include:
* SEM I 50 MPa - used for the production of special structures that require high-strength concrete - bridges, pipelines, etc.
* SEM II 40 MPa - considered for the preparation of concrete with the strength up to 30 MPa. It is also used in bricks laying, plastering and waterproofing.
* SEM II 30 MPa - cement with active mineral addition. Mainly, considered for bricks laying and is ideal for plastering. As per its increased sulphate and water resistance, this cement is recommended for erection of underground structures.
In order to check the quality of products, a modern laboratory has been constructed within the plant. This laboratory, which is the most sophisticated among those in the CIS, enables to analyze the chemical content of cement and its quality level in the period of short time.
"Garadagh" Sement JSC has established the management system to comply with ISO 9001:2000 (quality management) and ISO 14001: 1996 (environmental management) and has obtained relevant certificates.
The Company is proud to provide over 500 persons with jobs. Also, "Garadagh" Sement JSC is well known for its contribution to social welfare of Azerbaijan community, especially orphanages, refugees, internally displaced persons as well as to the development of sports and youth, arts and culture of Azerbaijan.
