2004 was the year of opening of the very first International Bonded Warehouse Terminal in Azerbaijan, located just outside Baku City at Garadagh. This facility comprising 30,000 square meters has rail sidings and makes an ideal pipe storage yard.
The facility built to the very highest world wide standards and fully capable of not only meeting the requirements of better International trading for Azerbaijan but also capable of becoming the recognized gateway for the whole of the Caspian region. In addition it is very attractive for International deliveries to destinations such as Iran and Georgia, where with very competitive back haul haulage rates ex Baku becomes very attractive as a route giving both excellent transit times as well as being very cost effective.
The Terminal will have direct railway connection by the end of 2004 and is equipped with the very latest in optic cable broadband communication capabilities.
The security arrangements are very sophisticated, using only the latest high spec Japanese equipment.
It is equipped with a 50-ton weighbridge and all the heavy lift equipment required to operate such a terminal. Floodlight throughout for nighttime working and the facility of 10 fully serviced offices for rental, making it very simple for overseas companies to become established in the region without hassle and huge initial start up costs.
Also we operate a warehouse out towards Bina Airport and have operational office close to airport.

With other areas where we do not have our own offices we work with dedicated project forwarding companies who have the experience to meet the high standards of the oil and gas sector. As an example in the recent past we handled together with our agent in Singapore the importation of the semi-submersible rig for Keppel Fels/Maersk Contractors. This project is unsurpassed in that such floating cargo has never been shipped through the Volga-Don canal system until today, making us pioneers of bespoke transportation solutions into this region.

In November 2004 Murphy Shipping has installed the Multi-Freight a modern web enabled logistical software System that give an advantage to operate with cargoes much more efficiently.
