Exclusive interview of General Manager of OFFICE SYSTEMS, Mr. Aziz Mammadov.
Mr. Mammadov, which successes had been achieved by OFFICE SYSTEMS?
OFFICE SYSTEMS is a group of companies which has worked in the Azerbaijan market since 1991. We have successfully proven to be a reliable supplier of office furniture and equipment. We have dynamically development company and our official turnover for the last 5 years reflects our history, including the difficult periods of mission (look at graph). I am glad that for last years we could save our place in five of leading companies operating in the field of office furniture.
The customers who operate with us are sure in quality of our goods and they know that company has operated for a long time and do not hide its finance turns. Company gives 3 years guarantee for all goods and service included free design, delivery, assembling and installation. Let's imagine that there appears new company which gives 3 years guarantee. I am surprised how this company is able to provide with guarantee for 3 years if after a year it can be closed. For instance, for last year in comparison with 2003, the growth of company's turnover made by around 200%.
We would like to note that the growth conditioned not only by conditions but also with economy growth in the country. Country's management applied many efforts to improvement of business-climate in the country. Office furniture market is barometer of economy development. If it is possible to say so that there is some problems, unstable situation in the country then nobody will open new companies and conformably to get the furniture.
What are you able to offer to your customers now?
We have whole spectrum of office furniture - beginning from the plainest computer stands and chairs to Italian furniture of handicraft from the natural wood. Previously we had never worked with such king of expensive furniture. Now, I signed the contract with Della Rovere. This is the result of negotiation with some of local companies among which OFFICE SYSTEMS have been selected as deserve to represent them in the Azerbaijan market. At present, we implement the negotiation with German manufacturers for supplying of accessories to office furniture.
If we consider the total volume of selling then we operate somewhere in the middle market. We strive not to work with the cheapest furniture because the reduction of price of production means somehow the quality damage. We are not able to do it and so, we give 3 years guarantee to all furniture.
Therefore our main customers are the companies which do not try to save each dollar, and they more try about design's original and production quality. Unfortunately, the major companies are foreign and the major budget organizations oriented as usual for low price. But we are glad that in Q IV of 2004 furnished all five floors of the Ministry of Tax what we cannot say about other State institutes.
Is there always possible to fulfill the furniture delivering in time?
There are companies today which make good furniture but they do not fulfill the work in time. It regards not only of furniture. We have elaborated the position five years ago for removing of lack and now we can declare that we do our job in time. We do not afraid of customer's losing when we inform about the exact and real term for production of furniture. We afraid of face lose.
Generally, who don't work of course will not make any mistake. We try to solve immediately any appeared lack.
Of course, there are probably the original novelties which you did not launch or you are going?..
Concerning the originality of decisions - our "fad", main direction due to which are attracted our consumers. Majority companies operate with standard furniture is plain rectangular table, dresser, etc.
We established the strong designer group which create for each customer the design on his wish. This is pleasant that some progressive businessmen of Azerbaijan think that furniture is company's name card. We elaborate for them the firm style which should presence in all its present and future subdivisions. It was very progressive decision.
When customer says that our company will make the following business we provide him with advise and offer that if you agree to pay more to 5-10% than for the ordinary furniture then we will be able to create for you the great design. And this design will link only with your company. This is included light spectrum, the figures and furniture installation. I can list the structures for which we were creating our face - British Atlantic, Almara, General Constructions, Ata Holding, BP, in some organizations such as UniBank, Bank Nikoil, UNICEF, ATIB, the design was created not by us but with our participation. There was a case when we completely created the design and now implement the furnishing of new hotel complex.
We are today members of such kind of organizations as CIBC, ATIB and AMCHAM. It provides us with more possibilities in contacting with the other companies, members of these associations and allows us to expand our mission, present our services. We are owners of prizes like Millennium Award (Geneva) and Ugur (Baku). Now became the winner of the Caspian Integration Award in nomination of the Best Office Furniture of the Year.
