AZERKORPU JSC - MANY YEARS IN LOCAL CONSTRUCTION MARKET

 

The construction market of Azerbaijan is experiencing upturn. The country is a true leader in the region regarding the   scope of new buildings and construction works. Since the last year the capital has been facing implementation of projects on construction of bridges and road junctions to improve the road infrastructure. The huge share of works in these projects was placed on Azerkorpu Open Joint-Stock Company that has been operating for many years in the local construction industry.

 

Azerkorpu was set up in 1968 in Baku under the USSR Ministry of Transportation Construction and started its activity under the name of Mostotryad 100. Over the long period of activity the entity has accumulated a huge experience in the field of construction of infrastructure facilities in Azerbaijan. After declaration of independence in our country this organization was managed by the Azerbaijan Republic and started its activity under Azernagliyyatyoltikinti Concern.

In the result of privatization of 2001 the company got the status of a joint-stock company. The company's scope of activity covers both construction in the oil industry, and industrial and civil construction as well. In its production activity the company uses contemporary machinery, mechanisms and equipment from leading foreign firms. The quality and timely implementation of operations with the advance local and foreign technologies are obvious on account of the long-term experience of the company.

Azerkorpu JSC specializes in construction of bridges and highways, hydraulic and melioration facilities, energy units, pile and deep foundations as well as in residential, civil & industrial engineering, manufacturing and assembling of metal structures of various purposes.

 

The company's asset includes implementation of different projects that promote dynamic development and growth of the company. At present Azerkorpu employs over 1,600 people, arranges many trainings for young specialists and keeps on updating its technical basis with state-of-the-art equipment. The company operated in other countries as well. Expanding the geography of its activity, at the moment Azerkorpu JSC is working on a number of projects in Kazakhstan and Turkey.

Within the framework of the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan on "Programme on Improvement of the Transport System of Baku City", the company implements construction of road interchanges in the capital of the country. The construction of interchanges on various levels is underway now near the Azizbayov metro station on the crossroad of Z. Buniyatov Street and Heydar Aliyev Avenue. The total length of the flyovers is 2.6 km, whereas the length of approach trestles makes 3 km. The construction operations are scheduled to be completed by May 2008.  The second quite important facility is situated on the crossroad of H. Zardabi Street and Tbilisi Avenue. It is a 278-metre three-leveled road interchange. The constructed tunnel (260 metres of length, 20 metres of width) will be a very important solution of traffic jams near 20 January metro station. The bridge will have been put  into operation by the Novruz Holiday. The follow-up work will include construction of the tunnel to be completed in October 2007. 

Applying advance technological solutions along with up-to-date equipment and machinery, the specialists of the company build bridges and flyovers within a very short period. Up-to-date flyovers constructed by Azerkorpu combine competent engineering, comfort and safety. For instance, while implementing the current projects the specialists chose a solid system of bridge spans. It means that joints are present only in the beginning and the end of bridges thus ensuring smooth and comfortable traffic flow along with durability of constructions. State-of-the-art technological solutions, up-to-date equipment and techniques enable the specialists of the company to significantly save time in the process of construction of bridges and flyovers.

To date Azerkorpu JSC has started construction of Bulvar trading center and resumed erection of a residential area in G. Seidbeyli.

Azerkorpu has launched construction of the 89-11 km section of the Baku-Russian Frontier Highway. 

 Within the framework of the civil engineering operations implemented on the Shah Deniz section, the company has finished upgrading of Zykh 3 and Zykh 4 areas. Azerkorpu completed construction of a large pier with 29-metre 1,720-mm metal piles buried to the foundation of piers and metal shunting executed due to the unique vibration shunting machine purchased from leading French producers of this equipment. The operations on construction of pumping stations in Yevlakh and Kyurdamir along the route of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export pipeline are also in the list of projects implemented by Azerkorpu.

 

By request of Melioration & Water Economy JSC, Azerkorpu JSC is starting construction of a Tahtakorpu water-reservoir that is strategically important for water supply of Baku City. The perspective plans of the company also include construction of multi-storeyed residential buildings. In addition, Azerkorpu JSC is the first local company that started construction of multi-storeyed buildings in Azerbaijan.
