"AZERCELL TELECOM"  JV PARTICIPATED AT   3GSM WORLD       CONGRESS

 

 The 3GSM World Congress combines the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry with a cutting edge congress featuring the most prominent Chief Executives representing mobile operators, vendors and content owners from across the world. The event is where the industry defines its future and creates business. The GSM Association  held GSMA Leadership Summit, Mobile Innovation Forum, Mobile Entertainment Summit and other several seminars and forums at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona during 12-15 February. 3GSM World Congress was uniquely positioned as it is fully endorsed by the GSM Association and attracted over 51,000 visitors during the four days.

Deputy minister of Сommunication and Information Technologies Iltimas Mammadov and vice-chairman of the State Committee for Management of the State Property Rustam Shahbazov represented Azerbaijan at the 3GSM World Congress.                               

"Azercell Telecom" JV was the only company from Azerbaijan participated in this Congress. Participation of "Azercell Telecom" was under "Fintur Holdings B.V."  umbrella, which is managing the operations of "TeliaSonera" Group companies in Eurasia since 1996. "Fintur Holdings B.V." is the major shareholder of the leading mobile operators in Azerbaijan("Azercell"), Georgia ("Geocell"), Kazakhstan ("K'Cell") and Moldova ("Moldcell") with total subscribers of 6.8 million and employees of 1,900. Eurasia Business Area of "TeliaSonera" is also responsible for developing companies' shareholdings in Russian "MegaFon" (44%) and Turkish "Turkcell" (37%).       

"Azercell Telecom" JV participated in the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry for the first time. During 3GSM World Congress "Azercell" enlightened that the market we operate in isn't only economically developing but also developing in political and social aspects.
