CASPIAN Pipe Coatings (CPC) LLC, founded in 2002 as a joint venture with EUPEC PipeCoatings GmbH (Germany) was recorded as a 100% Azeri company in the early 2007. The company coated over 1.400 km offshore and onshore oil, gas and water pipelines up to 42" diameters for AIOC, BP, SOCAR and CCIC for the past 5 years.

 

The Site and Logistics

CPC is set up in an industrial area of Baku on the shore of the Caspian Sea offering excellent coating facilities for offshore and onshore pipeline projects. The facility covers the area of nearly 250,000 square meters, with its own rail connection of up to 45 railcars capacity and its own quay (jetty) allowing for efficient and cost effective load-in and load-out operations.

The ability to load in and load out concrete coated pipes in a safe manner has been one of the main goals of CPC, and we are proud to have installed at our plant cranes and lifting devices specifically designed and adapted for ‘unmanned' pipe lifting operations. As a result, all lifting operations of bare and corrosion-coated pipes in the yard are performed by cranes equipped with vacuum lifting equipment, whereas hydraulic spreader bars are used for stock piling of concrete coated pipes.

With average of 2,5 million lifts per year, CPC is considered to be the company with the largest number of lifts in Azerbaijan. This result is achieved by having the most modern, reliable, efficient and safe lifting equipment available on the world market.

 

Coating Facility

CPC has the state of the art coating plant with the capability to produce Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE), 3- Layer Polyolefin (polyethylene or polypropylene), Internal Flow-Coat and Concrete Weight Coated pipes. The plant is designed to coat pipes of 12" to 48" outside diameter with single pipe length of up to 12,5 meters.  The Company also offers Special Coatings (small diameter pipes and all bends and risers with special coatings, such as Glass-Flex-Vinyl-Epoxy and Polychloroprene for the splash zones) as needed for the onshore and off-shore pipeline industry. At the moment the company has one of the most modern coating facilities in the world.

 

Projects

СРС has successfully accomplished the anti-corrosion, internal and concrete weight coating of over 1,400 km of pipes for Azerbaijan International Operating Company ("AIOC"), BP Shah Deniz Project for ("BPSD"), CCIC and for the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan ("SOCAR").

At the present time Company is about to complete anti-corrosion and concrete-weight coating of 190 km of 14" Produce Water Pipeline ("PWP") Project of AIOC.

 

Future developments

For the present the CPC Company is an only coating facility throughout the whole Caspian Region. Today CPC sees its potential clients not only in the oil, gas and water industries of Azerbaijan, but also in the above-mentioned  sectors of the Caspian Region, in particular of the Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
