  • VLADIMIR PUTIN WILL ARRIVE TO OPENING OF THE RUSSIAN YEAR IN AZERBAIJAN


    MR. PUTIN’S VISIT AZERBAIJAN WILL EXPAND ECONOMIC RELATIONS BETWEEN TWO COUNTRIES.

    In February 22 President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin will visit Baku. Main purpose of his visit is the opening of the Russian Year in Azerbaijan. President’s visiting program was stated except of participation together with President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev at the ceremony of the Russian Year’s opening in Azerbaijan the Russian President will also visit a number of other measures.


  • AZERBAIJAN GAS GOES TO EUROPE


    EUROPEAN UNION IS GOING TO FINANCE THE CONSTRUCTION OF AZERBAIJAN-GEORGIA-TURKEY-BALKANS GAS PIPELINE

    Last events around gas export to Europe, in particular the dependence on the Russian gas, which is not able to satisfy European demands made EU nations to take active measures regarding searching of an alternative points of “blue fuel” supplies. EU Council has expressed its intention to approve the recommendation of EU Commission on financing of construction of the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Balkans gas pipeline with perspective branches to Moldova and Ukraine. This matter will be discussed during Council’s congress where profile Ministers of 25 EU nations take part.

    ENERGY SYSTEM OF AZERBAIJAN OPERATES STABLY NOW

    This week the capital of Azerbaijan has been promptly de-energized. Baku already experienced such situation in summer 2004, the reason was the same – a break of one of the high-voltage power transmission lines (PTL). In the result other PLT turned to be overloaded and stopped working.

  • YUKOS BEGAN THE SELECTION OF PRETENDERS TO MAZEIKIU NAFTA


    KAZMUINAIGAZ, PKN ORLEN, ÒÍÊ-BP, LUKOIL AND CONOCOPHILIPS MET IN FIGHT FOR MAZEIKIU NAFTA

    During last Friday (Jan. 25) completed the getting of requests to acquiring of 53.7% YUKOS share in the Lithuanian Mazeikiu Nafta. The Polish PKN Orlen and the Russian-British TNK-BP at the same day made known about request to acquiring of the given block of share. The rest pretenders to this block – Lukoil mutually with ConocoPhilips and Kazakh KazMunaiGaz have not officially confirmed yet and not refuted the possibility of YUKOS’s share acquiring.

    EXPERTS DO NOT PREDICT THE STOP OF OIL EXPORT FROM IRAN

    Probably OPEC in case of oil supply stop from Iran is going to keep oil prices. Presently, there is no necessity to increase oil supplies to world market. As it was declared during last Friday (Jan. 27) at World Economy forum in Davosa on behalf of OPEC, Edmund Daukoru, “if Iran decides to stop production or has to stop it because of sanctions I do not think that OPEC will be able to play any role. Each country should decide itself”.
