FRUITFUL TALKS BETWEEN AZERBAIJAN AND RUSSIA TOUGHED UPON ALL ASPECTS OF COOPERATION
Half in jest and half-serious we have already discussed opportunities of doubling of the already doubled trade turnover in the near future, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev declared.
Economic complementation will create good and thorough base for realization of that we call as a strategic partnership, President of Russia Vladimir Putin believes.
Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are steadily developing. The rates of growth of the trade turnover that within the two years went up by 40% and reached 1 billion USD testify this. “All that proves we are on a correct path”, President of Russia Vladimir Putin who arrived in Baku to take part in the official opening ceremony of Year of Russia in Azerbaijan declared.
In the course of the bilateral talks held on February 21-22, 2006 in Baku President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin toughed upon such matters as regional policy, bilateral relations, cooperation across the Caspian sea, the fuel and energy complex, the North-South corridor, construction of pipelines, expanding of the trade turnover and other aspects of interrelations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
During the two-day visit of the Russian leader to Azerbaijan the sides approved the tasks related to development of the bilateral cooperation set in Moscow and determine outlooks of economical and geopolitical cooperation.

GAS COMBUSTION AT FLARE STACKS PROHIBITED IN KAZAKHSTAN
With growing oil production in Kazakhstan steady increase of gas potential is the primary challenge today. At present the extracting companies of Kazakhstan flare million cubic meters of gas at the flare stacks. Natural gas utilization becomes more complicated and was reflected in the new law on oil in the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to this law, to flare gas at the flayer stacks is prohibited. However, lack of necessary level of gas processing and exporting facilities prevents complete solution of the problem.

FIRST TANKER WITH AZERBAIJAN OIL TO LEAVE CEYHAN ON MAY 27
KAZAKHSTAN LEGALLY JOINED THE BTC PROJECT EARLY MARCH – HEAD OF MEMR OF KAZAKHSTAN
Construction of BTC oil pipeline named after Heydar Aliyev, which has been implemented within two years, is about to be completed – Azerbaijan and Turkey officially decided the date of May 27, 2006 when the first tanker is scheduled to leave Ceyhan port. Simultaneously the pipeline is being successfully filed with the Kazakh oil. The project on intergovernmental agreement to create the Aktau-Baku corridor will be completely uorked out early March, 2006.

PRESIDENT OF VENEZUELA UGO CHAVES THREATENS USA TO CEASE EXPORT
Oil prices continues to climb up. The last events around the Iranian problem, American statements regarding restriction of Venezuela’s influence strikes in Nigeria were not the benefit for consumers of “black gold”. As a result, President of Venezuela Ugo Chaves threatened the USD to cease oil export in case Washington "steps over the boundary ". And of course prices started climbing up.
