The Caspian Sea border delimitation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan talks took place February 6 through 8, 2008 in Baku, and Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan claimed them successful. Discussed during the talks under chairmanship of Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and his Turkmen counterpart Hoshgeldi Babayev was the sea legal status, seabed delimitation issues and midline coordinates.

KAZAKHSTAN GOING TO REVISE GOOD HALF OF SUBSOIL CONTRACTS

 

Following the success with asset development in Kashagan Project, Kazakhstan is going to make a serious revision of subsoil development contracts. So the government is openly stating it terminates all subsoil contracts with subsoil users failing to comply with their assumptions.

NEW GAS CONFLICT OVER

 

RUSSIA AND UKRAINE AGREED ON FUEL SUPPLIES

 

In the follow-up of talks (February 12) between Russian and Ukrainian Presidents Victor Yutshchenko and Vladimir Putin the gas supplies issue has been resolved. President Yutshchenko stated Ukraine’s readiness to repay her debts yet by Thursday, February 14. Base price for gas supplies is $179 per 1,000 cu m. Too, the agreement was achieved to dismiss gas supply mediators. As a result, Naftogaz Ukraine and Gazprom will establish new companies to act as mediators.

 

NABUCCO GET LAUNCHED IN 2013

 

Nabucco Gas Pipeline International disseminated the statement on postponing Nabucco pipeline opening until 2013.
