AZERBAIJAN TO OWN 80% OF PROFIT ACG OIL

 

Progressing oil and gas projects raise the share of Azerbaijan. “In a few months Azerbaijan is going to be an owner of 80% of profit oil produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli area only, said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressing the people of Khanlar rayon on Tuesday.

 

 

AZERBAIJAN AND TURKMENISTAN: STATES REMOVE ALL DEBT-RELATED ISSUES

 

Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have settled one more urgent problem. During the second session (March 5, Baku, the first session was held on January 17, Ashgabat) of the Turkmen-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan signed the Agreement regulating debt commitments and financial requirements. The document was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyubov and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Khydyr Saparliyev.

NABUCCO’S DELAY STIRRED UP TALKS

 

Gas resources for Nabucco appear to be the major topic discussed by project shareholders and gas producers. Though consortium members claim to have a resource base, de-facto Azerbaijan gas seems to be the major and important source to fill the pipe. The US representatives are making all efforts to promote talks.

«We are making good progress. We are now in the exemption process with the European Commission and the national regulators. After this is finished we`ll start the open season process in which we offer transport capacity to market participants with the goal to conclude first transport contracts and to get to the final investment decision. Construction will start 2010, fist gas will be transported in 2013», said Reinhard Mitschek, Managing Director, Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH, in his exclusive interview with Caspian Energy Investor.

Kazakhstan is seriously engaged in implementing export duties for oil exporters. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) of Kazakhstan has handed subsoil users the calculations on export duties. Another issue being seriously taken by the government is national energy security. With this purpose Kazakhstan is going to launch the construction of three large power plants.
