NEW FORMAT OF ENERGY COOPERATION:
CASPIAN SEA BLACK SEA BALTIC SEA
Currently we are defining the frames of Caspian Sea-Black Sea-Baltic Sea cooperation and energy factor matters in this respect. Azerbaijan became a country that produces and runs abroad both oil and gas. Oil and gas from our rich fields are already delivered to global markets, including those across the EU. We are going to ramp up the production». This year oil and gas production in Azerbaijan shall be 53MT and 18bcm, respectively. But the potential is, undoubtedly, much higher, said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on February 26 during his meeting in Warsaw with his Pole counterpart Lech Kaczynski. In 2007 Azerbaijan produced a national record of 41.7MT of crude and 11bcm of natural gas. Thus, this year the country plans to ramp up oil and gas production by 27 and 64 percent, respectively.
