  • Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are considering the extension of mutually beneficial cooperation. During the informal summit (June 10, At Petersburg) of CIS member-countries heads it was agreed that Turkmenistan’s Embassy will resume its work in Baku. Moreover, Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Natig Aliyev announced the possibility joint development of disputed oilfields in Caspian Sea with Turkmenistan.

  • IN 2007 SOCAR PRODUCED 3660.42KT OF OIL AND 3660.42 MLN M3 OF GAS


  • The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan has announced the volumes of produced and handed over oil and gas for January-May 2007. Over the period SOCAR produced 3660.42KT of crude oil and 3858.59 million m3 of gas.

  • In May Azercell Telekom JV, extending its coverage in Baku and regions, kept improving the communication quality for its users. The company installed 27 stations in the capital and in different regions. Of them 16 were installed in Baku, 2 in Guba and the rest in Agdash, Barda, Dashkesan, Devechi, Geranboy, Kurdamir, Gusar, Shamkir and Khachmaz.

  • OPEC’S HEAD CALLS UPON WESTERN COMPANIES TO INVEST IN OIL PRODUCTION


  • “If Western companies want OPEC to ramp up oil production they shall pay for it” – that is what signified the statement of OPEC’s Secretary General Abdallah al-Badri during his interview with The Wall Street Journal. Al-Badri said OPEC’s member-countries by 2020 need $230 to $500 billion of investments to ramp up production by 9 mbd.
