«RUSSIA CANNOT SUPPLY AS MUCH GAS AS THE EU IS GOING TO NEED» - CHRISTIAN CLEUTINX
«Azerbaijan with her development of Shah Deniz is also very important for the EU. From this field gas is expected to be taken for Nabucco. We are also going to address some other countries; in some cases it is very difficult but one should not forget that Iran sits on 15-16% of world’s gas reserves. Thus, we have a lot of alternative variants in the Middle East. One of them is Central Asia that can supply gas for Nabucco», said Christian Cleutinx, Director, General Directorate for Energy and Transport with European Commission, Coordinator of Russia-EU energy dialog, in his exclusive interview with Caspian Energy Investor.
UKRAINE IS INTERESTED IN ENERGY CARRIERS FROM CASPIAN REGION» - STEPAN VOLKOVETCKYI
«Ukraine is interested in energy carriers both as a transit country and as customer, even as a re-exporter. In order to ensure its energy security each country shall have several energy sources and in case each source makes up over 20-30% it is a threat to national security. Today Ukraine receives almost 100% of energy carriers from one source, Russia. This is the main reason why we seek for alternative sources», said Stepan Volkovetckyi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, in his exclusive interview with Caspian Energy Investor.
