During the official visit of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan the bilateral documents were signed under the Trans-Caspian Project between NC KazMunaiGaz JSC (KMG) and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

Azerbaijan’s gas resources today total 1.5tcm and they shall be increased using other fields as Azerbaijan is going to be a free gas seller for Europe. Azerbaijan is a gas seller but only on the border with Georgia and Turkey. Azerbaijan has set the task to access Turkey’s gas market and act as a gas seller outside it.
