    Caspian Integration Business Club held its first conference under management of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan Vladimir Shkolnik at the beginning of October in Almaty, and also there was realized the presentation of special issue of the Caspian Energy Kazakhstan.

    PRESIDENTS OF GEORGIA, AZERBAIJAN AND TURKEY OPENED GEORGIAN PART OF BTC

    On October 12 the presidents of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey opened Georgian part of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. The ceremony was opened by the reports of the president Mikhail Saakashvili, Ahmed Nejad Sezar and Ilham Aliyev.

Again there was held in October 6-7, Baku the XVIII conference of the Special Working Group (SWG) for elaboration of Convention about legal status of the Caspian Sea at the level of Deputies Ministries of Foreign Affairs from Azerbaijan - Khalaf Khalafov, Kazakhstan - ambassador on special order of MFA Erik Utembayev, Russia - special representative of the President of RF for international energy cooperation Igor Yusufov, Iran - special representative of IRI for Caspian Sea relations Mehti Safari, Turkmenistan - chairman of the state plant for Caspian relations under the President of Turkmenistan Khoshgeldi Babayev.

    As for the president the problems in the gas supply are also solved. Several years ago gas supply to many regions of Azerbaijan was resumed.     RUSSIAN COMPANY PURCHASES PROFITABLE ASSETS

    The Russian company has accepted to get assets in the Caspian region twice last week. Previously Lukoil made offers to Dragon Oil's shareholders operating in Turkmenistan. Lukoil's financial position allows it to make absorption of such expensive company without serious consequences. For a year the operational monetary stream of the company before change in a working capital has made $6,2 bn, the clean financial debt without updatings was reduced from $2,8 bn (end of 2004) to $2,1 bn (end of June 2005).

    PRE-ELECTION BASE OF NAZARBAYEV DEMANDS THE APPROVE OF EXTREME MEASURES ON STABILIZATION OF CL PRICES

    In the South-Kazakhstan region the situation regarding petrol is difficult. Chairman of Filling Stations Association of SKR Kaitbek Kambarov informed about it. According to him, the petrol is lack in approx. 90% of filling stations. Petrol is being supplied from other regions now. "Owners of filling stations will poll money to tank trucks, buy at 65-70 tenge in Almaty and will resell here", - he emphasized.

  • PROJECT'S SHAREHOLDERS FOR EXPANSION OF CPC


    AWAITING THE DECISION OF THE RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT

    An agreement about CPC's capacity expansion up to 67 mln. tons of oil a year was achieved. Vice-minister of Economy and Mineral Resources Lyazzat Kiinov informed about it during holding XIII Kazakhstan International exhibition "Oil&Gas" and conference "KIOGE-2005" in October 5. CPC is the first largest oil pipeline in the former USSR built with participation of private capital. It connects Kazakhstan's Tengiz field with export terminal near Novorossiysk. CPC's capacities are loaded with oil volumes coming from the Caspian region and Russia.

    Presently, two Caspian nations' powers have joined to the Initiative of Clarity in the industrial branches operating in mineral resources' production (ICMRP). If Azerbaijan works in this area two years Kazakhstan recently has joined to Initiative of Clarity.

  • OPEC PRODUCTION COMES NEARER TO 26-YEARS TO THE MAXIMUM


    ASIA BECOMES THE LARGEST CONSUMER OF OIL & GAS

    Oil production in OPEC during September has come nearer to 26-years maximum after the decision of cartel to extract on a limit of the opportunities. As the data given by the oil companies and analysts testify, daily average OPEC oil recovery in September has grown on the average on 100.000 bbl. (0,3 %) - up to 30,51 mln. bbl. It is less for 30.000 barrels than the parameter of daily average extraction fixed in October 2004 - highest since 1979.
