  • STAFF MOVE IN UP ECHELON OF POWER


    SEVERAL HIGH RANK OFFICIALS ARE UNDER EXAMINATION

    During last two days there is happened in Azerbaijan significant staff changes in up echelon of power. Basing on five point of 109 article of the constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made free in October 19 Farkhad Shovlat oglu Aliyev from position of the Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

    By the other orders chief of state made free Heydar Aydin oglu Babayev from position of Chairman of State Securities Committee under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and appointed him as a Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan. There were refused at the Ministry of Economic Development to comment the news to CEW.

    Другими распоряжениями глава государства освободил Гейдара Айдын оглу Бабаева от должности председателя Государственного комитета по ценным бумагам при Президенте Азербайджанской Республики и назначил его министром экономического развития Азербайджанской Республики.

    COMPANY CONSIDERS NEW STRUCTURES IN AZERBAIJAN

    Russian Lukoil makes more active its position in the projects of the Caspian nations. Company acquired 65% of the issued and outstanding common shares of Nelson Resources Limited in Kazakhstan and during last week President of Lukoil Vahid Alekperov visited Baku. During two days visit chief company met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, addressed fore-part of students of Azerbaijan State Oil Academy with a lecture of "Oil industry's development in present conditions", conducted negotiations with the president of SOCAR Natig Aliyev where they discussed the speed of projects' realization with Lukoil's participation.

    WHO WILL GET PETROKAZAKHSTAN?

    This week the agiotage around of a buying of company PetroKazakhstan has reached the apogee. KazMunaiGaz and CNPC have signed the Memorandum of mutual understanding concerning a buying of PetroKazakhstan shares. The forthcoming transaction by means of court has suspended Russian "Lukoil". In parallel Indian oil and gas corporation ONGC continues to apply for assets PetroKazakhstan. To all these events signing by the president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev of the corrections accepted by parliament in the legislation which one allocate the government with the right of the primary buy-out in the sec market of oil assets, including belonging preceded foreign firms.

  • OPEC REDUCED OIL DEMAND FORECAST IN 2005


    ACCORDING TO FORECAST OIL PRICES WILL BE LESS $50 AFTER 2 YEARS

    OPEC reduced its forecast of world oil demand's growth up to 1,2 mln. bpd in 2005 from 1,4 mln. bpd previously. At the time, OPEC expects the increasing of oil demand's growth up to 1,5 mln bbl in 2006.
