    Azerbaijan is turning into an important player due to growing significance of the gas constituent within energy security. On August 27 President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said: "Azerbaijan will turn into a large gas exporter after commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline." At present Turkey and Georgia put in claims on contracted full volumes of "blue fuel." Turkey having cheaper Azerbaijan gas is going to establish new relations with Russian and Iranian suppliers. At the same time Azerbaijan keeps on expanding its export potential. This year the country is going to bring the oil production up to 30.5 million tons of oil, which is a record indicator for the republic.

    "The Black Sea is a quite new unexplored field. It is very important exploratory field for TPAO.     "We suppose gas from Shtokman to be contracted in a way to deliver it to USA but reserve to ourselves the contract opportunity to reexport it to Europe.     The "gas" crisis that occurred last winter in Ukraine is not going to reappear. On August 23 the President of Gazprom JSC, Alexei Miller and the Minister of Fuel & Energy of Ukraine, Yuri Boyko discussed the current issues regarding cooperation in the gas sphere. On the eve of the visit Boyko said the situation with resources replenishment and price policy in the area of gas supplies was rather difficult, Caspian Energy Investor reports. On August 17 the Vice-Premier of Ukraine, Andrei Klyuyev declared the deficit of natural gas in the volume of 8 billion m3.
