KAZAKHSTAN AND AZERBAIJAN TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT FOR OIL SUPPLY IN THE NEAR FUTURE
KAZAKHSTAN INCREASES ITS HYDROCARBON POTENTIAL
Long waited Agreement on Oil Supplies from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan to transport oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan named after Heydar Aliyev can be signed in the nearest future. Kazakhstan’s oil industry annually increases the volume of production, supply and refining of oil and petroleum products. By the end of 2005 the total amount of oil production with gas condensate in the republic made nearby 61.4 mln. tons. According to estimations of oil experts, significant growth of oil production’s volumes is being forecasted in the nearest future. The average production increased to 1.3 mln. bpd, or a total of 61 mln. tons in 2005, and this is expected to increase up to 2.4 mln. bpd, or 118 mln. tons by the year 2010, and 3.6 mln. bpd, or nearly 180 mln. tons by the year of 2015. Total gas extraction and production will make 40-45 bcm.

Let's remind, there was increased the retail prices to a number of petroleum products in Azerbaijan. Tariff (price) board of Azerbaijan in January 2006 has increased the retail prices to a number of petroleum products. The retail price to a liter of diesel fuel is increased from 18 up to 36 gapik, lighting kerosene - from 16 up to 36 gapik, household oven fuel - from 11 up to 36 gapik (1800 old AZM - $0,39 new AZM). Retail cost to a ton of aviation kerosene has increased from 210,7 up to 280,6 denominated AZM.

HARD STRUGGLE FOR MAZEIKIU OIL REFINING COMPLEX
NC KAZMUNAIGAZ HAS CONFIRMED ITS INTENTION REGARDING SHARE’S ACQUIRING IN MAZEIKIU NAFTA
Deadline for apply of the application forms regarding acquiring of block of share in Mazeikiu Nafta are prolonged. The block of share (53.7%) in Mazeikiu Nafta belongs to the Russian YUKOS that sells the shares according to demand of creditors. “As we aware, deadline for proposals is January 25”, - Minister of Economy of Lithuania, Mr. Kastutis Daukshis has announced during press-conference. He did not inform new details about tender’s participants.

OPEC CAN REDUCE OIL PRODUCTION IN 2006
EXPERTS PREDICT THE FLUCTUATION OF THE WORLD OIL PRICES WITHIN $50-60 PER BBL.
The American governmental experts consider that till 2030 the world oil prices to oil will change within 50-60 USD per bbl. The head of information management of the US Department of Energy, G Caruso has informed about it at the press conference.
